The year 2022 turned out to be bad for Hindi cinema as only handful of films did well in the 12 months. Even in this year, 2023, only Pathaan and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar have achieved success. While a lot of trade experts have been sharing their views on the box office situation, Salman Khan too has given his opinion on why so many films have flopped after the theatres reopened fully after being shut due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking at the press conference for the Filmfare Awards, Salman said, “I have been saying this for a long that our Hindi films are not working. Galat picture banaoge to kaise chalegi? (If you make faulty films, how will they work?) Today filmmakers have a different understanding of India. They feel it’s from Andheri to Colaba. The filmmakers that I have met and interacted; they are too cool. They make that kind of content. However, Hindustan is way different. They start from the east of the railway stations.”

Salman’s keenly awaited film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is all set to release this month during Eid on April 21. While looking at the funny side of his statement, he said in jest, “I hope my words don’t come to bite me. Bhari nahi padhna chahiye. People shouldn’t question what kind of a film have I made. It (Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan) is releasing on April 21, and I hope everyone likes it.”

Also starring Pooja Hegde, Shehnaaz Gill and many more, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is directed by Farhad Samji and produced under the banner of Salman Khan Films.
