Dream: Park Seo Joon and IU’s sports comedy film surpasses The Devil’s Deal to top Korean box office with 93000 plus viewers
According to The Korean Film Council’s Korea Box-office Information System (KOBIS), Dream garnered 93,420 viewers, topping the Korean box office. This is the first time in 50 days that a Korean film has topped the box office since the release of The Devil’s Deal in March.
Dream tells the story of a group of people playing soccer for the first time for the Homeless World Cup, as described by the Korean tabloid Soompi. Park Seo Joon stars as professional soccer player Yoon Hong Dae who is on disciplinary probation who becomes the coach of the ragtag soccer team.
Meanwhile, IU plays producing director Lee So Min who is making a documentary about the team. Directed and written by Lee Byeong Heon Dream released in Korean theaters on April 26.
