The loss of the veteran actor and director Satish Kaushik will take some time to heal for his film industry friends and fans all across the world to sink in. The Mr India actor breathed his last yesterday due to a heart attack.

Kaushik has wowed the audiences with his performances in a large number of films. But along with an actor, he was also a filmmaker who touched his audience’s hearts through films like Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain, Humara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, Tere Naam, Kaagaz, etc.
Satish Kaushik’s last film as a director will turn out to be Kaagaz 2, the sequel of the Pankaj Tripathi starrer acclaimed Kaagaz (2021). The second film in the franchise will also see additional cast members in the form of Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta and Darshan Kumaar. Like the first film, the second one is also set to be inspired from true events.
Remembering the veteran artist and his Kaagaz 2 director, Darshan went emotionally down memory lane in an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama. Apart from directing him in the upcoming movie, Satish Kaushik also gave him his first break in Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai as Tusshar Kapoor’s friend. He was also a part of Tere Naam where he played Salman Khan’s friend. Over the years, Kaushik kept in touch with Darshan.
Recalling the late actor-director, Darshan said, “Satish ji was like a father figure for me. He always treated me like his child. I am shocked and devastated. I am still in denial mode that he has left us. I am waiting for his call want to hear his sweet voice, the way he always called me ‘Darshannn, hero mere bete.’”
Speaking about his experience in Satish Kaushik’s last film Kaagaz 2, Darshan added, “He was so passionate about cinema that he used to call me and talk in detail after watching a scene of Kaagaz 2 during post-production of the film. While filming the scenes, he didn’t leave any stone unturned to create magic. He was a perfectionist. He used to put his heart and soul in every project, whether he would be acting, directing or producing.”
Darshan signed off saying, “We have lost a legend. His contribution to cinema is extraordinary. He will be missed forever.”
