Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Pathaan has received a massive response in the advance booking counters across the country. As of Saturday evening, the movie has sold around 2,51,000 tickets at the three national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis for its first day on January 25. For the unversed, the advance booking for Pathaan started yesterday January 20 and ever since then, Bollywood Hungama has been sharing the update.
Within 24 hours, Pathaan has sold out over 2.5 lakh tickets for its first day, which indicates that the film will have a grand opening. PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis have sold 1,08,000, 93,000, and 50,000, respectively for day 1. On top of that, the spy-thriller will enjoy the added benefit of on-spot and walking bookings.
On the other hand, Pathaan has sold over 5 lakh tickets across the nation for its first weekend. Of the 5 lakhs, around 2.30 lakh tickets have been sold in the three national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis. On the net collection front, it has already scored an advance booking of Rs. 13.50 crore, and the final advance for the opening day is expected to be in the range of Rs. 25 crores.
In the category of non-holiday releases, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer is already seen scoring a bigger opening day than Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju and Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai. It will be interesting to see if it crosses the mark set by Baahubali: The Conclusion, which is Rs 41 crores, and emerges as the biggest non-holiday opener of all time in the Hindi market.
