Apart from earning over Rs 1000 crores gross worldwide, SS Rajamouli’s RRR has been on a rampage in the West. For those not in the know, the film earned the Golden Globe Award for Best Song for ‘Naatu Naatu’, which was MM Keeravani’s composition, and has been nominated for various categories in the Oscars. Ram Charan, one of the leading actor from RRR, has said that the recognition the film is getting in the West is nothing but a tribute to Indian cinema and its technicians.
Ram Charan features on the US show Good Morning America 3; says, “RRR getting recognized in West is tribute to Indian cinema and technicians”
The actor said this on the popular US show Good Morning America 3 where he was a special guest. “It’s tribute to Indian Cinema,” he said. “This is the first time Golden Globes, Academy Awards and multiple other critics’ awards have recognized us. It is not just RRR, it is the Indian Cinema, Indian technicians who are being honoured. Just when we thought we have achieved everything and it’s time to move on to the next film, West just showed up and showed us that it’s just the beginning.”
He added, “I think it is one of the finest writings of my director SS Rajamouli. He is known as the Steven Spielberg of India. I hope he finds his way to the global cinema very soon.”
Also starring Jr NTR, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt, RRR is a period action film about a tribal girl getting forcibly taken away by the British and how she gets rescued.
