Abhishek Banerjee has carved a niche for himself in the OTT and film space over the last few years through projects like Stree, Dream Girl, Paatal Lok, Rashmi Rocket, Bhediya, etc. He will next be seen in the Netflix show Rana Naidu, which mainly stars Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati. Abhishek doesn’t get much footage in the trailer of the show, except the scene where he is lying down surrounded by currency notes. But he says that he has a prominent role in the show.

“You will see how messed up my character is when you’ll see the show,” said the actor in a statement. “To just mess up my mind for a character and thanks to (directors) Suparn (Verma) and Karan (Anshuman), I think they both have a very dark mind. So, I think they went way beyond the original.”
Speaking about the difficulty level, Abhishek added, “It is by far the most difficult character I have attempted. It was way out of my comfort zone. Lately I have been doing all the UPites and North Indian characters, which made people think I am from Kanpur (or) Ilahabad. But I was looking for something that challenged me more. And I think whenever you have to get to some kind of diction or like an accent which is not very familiar to you then I think you start thinking about it more. So, to do that was the most challenging part for me.”
Rana Naidu is an action drama where Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati are pitted against each other. Also starring Surveen Chawla and Ashish Vidyarthi, the show will stream on Netflix from March 10.
