Well-known singer Shaan has been impressing music lovers in India since decades. He has not only sung a large number of songs for Bollywood movies but has also been a prominent face of pop music. His track ‘Tanha Dil’ continues to warm the hearts. He is now all set to add another feather in his cap by making his acting debut in Papa Rao Biyyala’s film Music School.

Shaan on his acting debut in Music School, “I had no idea I would end up starring in the film”

Shaan has acted in his music videos but this will be the first time that he will be acting in a movie and while playing a pivotal character. Music School has music composed by the veteran Ilaiyaraaja. Shaan first came on board as a singer and had no idea that he would also end up acting in the movie.

Sharing his journey in the film, Shaan said in a statement, “When I first began working on a song for Music School, I had no idea I would end up starring in it as well. It so happened that when I was recording the song, the director of the film Papa Rao Biyyala felt I would be the perfect match for the character they were looking at and proposed the idea to cast me. I had an idea of the story as I was recording the song, but when Papa Rao sir narrated the script, I was instantly on board. It was an extremely beautiful journey shooting for the film. We majorly shot in Goa and it added to the beauty and lively experience. I am extremely thankful to Papa Rao sir for giving me this opportunity and making me a part of his passion project.”

Music School stars Sharman Joshi and Shriya Saran in lead roles along with Suhasini Mulay, Benjamin Gilani and Prakash Raj.

Sharing the reason for choosing Shaan for playing a character in the film, Papa Rao Biyyala said, “We were looking for a flamboyant, energetic and lively person for the character but had no luck in finding the perfect match. I then saw Shaan recording one of the songs from the film. He was so excited and happy. He was literally dancing while recording and I immediately felt we found our guy. Shaan is not just a brilliant singer but also an effortless actor and most importantly a wonderful person. His positive aura and charming attitude convinced me to cast him in Music School.”

Music School is a Telugu-Hindi bilingual that would be releasing in theatres on May 12.
