Remaking one of the most popular British dramas, The Night Manager (which is retitled in Hindi by the same name) is all set to hit Disney+Hotstar. The web show features Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead along with Anil Kapoor as the antagonist. Co-starring Sobhita Dhulipala, Tillotama Shome among others, the trailer was launched with much fanfare in Alibaug, earlier today. Anil Kapoor anad Aditya Roy Kapur discussed with the media about remaking a popular drama featuring Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie. In the same interaction, Anil also spoke about returning to the shows.

Readers would be aware that Anil Kapoor remade the popular American thriller series 24 which aired on Indian television. While the actor returned to films soon after that, he has now decided to experiment with the genre of web-shows. In a media interaction, the actor revealed that the medium doesn’t matter as far as he gets to do roles, characters, and scripts that interest him. “It’s the role, the people, the team involved and that’s what draws you into it. Whatever little I have done in my career, I have always done things like that.”
He recalled the time when he did 24, when ‘mainstream’ actors did not try out OTT or for that matter, even television. He continued, “It was a time when no big screen actor came into OTT or TV. Not just in India but also internationally. So it’s just a role! When you get one like that, you just grab it.” Now that he has debuted on television and OTT shows, the actor also wants to try his hands on theatre. “I am planning to do theatre. We are planning to do it for many years but nothing has materialized,” he added.
He concluded by saying, “Whether it is theatre, OTT or Television, we will all do it. We wouldn’t be sitting here playing safe. We are all risk takers. Without risk mazaa hi kya hai life mein (there is no fun in life, without risks).”
