South Korean actors Kwak Dong Yeon, Park Sung Hoon, Kim Joo Ryoung, Na Young Hee and Kim Jung Nan are currently in talks to join Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won in the upcoming drama Queen Of Tears (working title).
Queen of Tears: Kwak Dong Yeon, Park Sung Hoon and more in talks to join Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won in new drama
According to the Korean tabloid Soompi, on February 23, Kwak Dong Yeon’s agency H& Entertainment and Park Sung Hoon’s agency BH Entertainment both confirmed that Queen of Tears is one of the projects that they have received offers for and are currently reviewing it. Kim Joo Ryoung, Na Young Hee, and Kim Jung Nan are also reportedly in talks to star in the drama.
Queen of Tears will be penned by Park Ji Eun who previously worked in hit dramas like My Love From the Star, starring Kim Soo Hyun, and Producer. The drama will be helmed by Crash Landing on You director Jang Young Woo. In December 2022, Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won were confirmed to star in the upcoming drama.
The two actors were reported to play the role of a married couple. Kim Soo Hyun is set to star as Baek Hyun Woo, whereas Kim Ji Won will be essaying the role of his wife Hong Hae In. As per the logline, “Baek Hyun Woo, who is the pride of the village of Yongduri, is the legal director of the conglomerate Queens Group, while chaebol heiress Hong Hae In is the ‘queen’ of Queens Group’s department stores. Queen of Tears will tell the miraculous, thrilling, and humorous love story of this married couple, who manage to survive a crisis and stay together against all odds.”
As previously reported, the makers plan to premiere the series in the second half of the year.
